Last month our playgroup had a tea party, so since I had a ton of fun fur, I made a few scarves. My hope was that they would be like boas and fun for the kids to use with their dress up costumes. They turned out pretty cute but didn’t have much interest from the 2-3 year old crowd.

I had planned on giving them to the little girls but since they didn’t seem to have an interest in the scarves, I just brought them home. There are eight of them, so I had considered placing them on Etsy as they would make a cute birthday happy for a princess party. Hopefully someone can use them. They are cute. If they don’t sell, then I may use some as gifts.

Last week my daughter wanted a red flower. Red is by far her favorite color. We looked in the yard but didn’t find any wild red flowers. I didn’t think we would but she did settle for a couple of yellow Lazy Susans.
Last night while browsing Crochetville, I ran across a pattern for a yarn flower . It looked really cute and simple, so I found some yellow and red yarn to make my flower. It took about 10 minutes to whip this flower up.

It would have taken less time if on round 2 I hadn’t tried using round one. Once I finally had my ‘ah ha’ moment, the rest of the flower went pretty easily. I’d like to make several more to decorate in her room but just not sure how I would use them just yet. She is really into flowers right now, so I could make them in her favorite colors. If nothing else, she would enjoy playing with them.

First let me apologize for my lack of posting. I’ve been sick and also trying to concentrate on organizing our household. I also need to prioritize my crochet projects since I have several projects I want to start but need a plan. Right now I’m still working on an angel baby blanket I started in May. It’s a baby blanket for my cousin. She had her first little girl June 10th, so now I really need to finish this thing.
It’s a filet crochet motif with an angel in the center. I’m about one-third of the way complete and hope to finish this week. I plan on doing a row every hour to break it off into manageable chunks. The blanket itself is not hard since it’s mainly double crochet. It just takes time. This is why I prefer small projects like amigurumi that can be completed in a few hours.
I hope to be done or close to down by the end of the week. I really want to get this blanket in the mail. It feels like I’ve been working on it for years when it’s really only been a little over a month. I’m ready to be done with it even though I have at least two more baby blankets to do in the near future.
